Nostalgic Reread - Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Book #3)

Nostalgic Reread - Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Book #3)

Prisoner of Azkaban follows Harry's third year in Hogwarts. Things gets complicated for Harry, when a murderer named Sirius Black escaped from Azkaban and everyone from Ministers of Magic to his Hogwarts professors tries to protect him from Black. He also faces his most terrifying fear in the form of Dementors, and gets a protector in the form of his new Defense against dark arts teacher. But when he gets the truth regarding the prisoner and his parents's death , he do not know whom to trust and what to believe.
Prisoner of Azkaban is a brilliant treat for all fantasy lovers who loves friendship, magic, adventure and awesome Hogwarts!

This was my second last read of December 2018 and a perfect read on Christmas holiday. This was also my favourite book out of all books growing up but I am pretty sure my ranking will be different this time. Still it was as fabulous as expected! Everything was so nostalgic and I realized this is basically the last less serious book in the series. After that, from 'Goblet of Fire',our characters are going to be grown ups taking up much serious and darker tone in the series. But yeah... this one was the most holiday and winter feel book for me out of all. Be it the way they spend their holidays and their first visit to Hogsmede. Perfect is the only way to describe it. Soon after finishing it I re watched the whole movie to complete the experience... Heaven! 😇😇

No Doubt... Full 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Stars from me!

Nostalgic Re Read - Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by JK Rowling

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Book#2) by J.K. Rowling

Continuing with my Nostalgic re read of Harry Potter Series, I read second book 'Chamber of Secrets' this month. Growing up, this one was my least favourite book and movie out of all books/movies. But this reread actually made me more appreciative of this book. There were so many little details I kind of forgot (which were not in the movie). So this was kind of great refresher for me.

Chamber of secrets shows Harry's second year in Hogwarts and follows the events and aftermath of the first book and the first encounter of Harry with 'you know who'. We see more new characters and our favourite old Trio. I did not remember that there were seven Weasley siblings!! We did not meet all of them (Bill & Charlie) but we got to know their family dynamics personally. Oh, how I wish to be there during Holidays!

Along with the awesome plot and characters what I love is the vivid and simple writing of JK Rowling, which takes us to Hogwarts with Harry and getting to experience all the seasons with him.

Loved everything about this book, cannot wait to read rest of the books and see how my book preferences have changed and which one is going to be my new favourite after such a long time!

Full 5 Stars!

Nostalgic Re-read | Harry Potter & the Philosopher's (Sorcerer's) Stone (Book #1)

I read this series for the first time in 2010 (quite late as I was starting college at that time) and watched all the movies later, which was a great move as books did a very good job in explaining things and it kind of made me understand the movie more (for later books ). Philosopher's (sorcerer's) stone was my second least favourite in the whole series but still I consider it one of my favourites of all time and it's also have been a very long time since I read this series. So I decided that now is a perfect time to re-read this whole series and revive all that moments which made me actually fall in love with Fantasy genre in general.

The fun part of rereading this book was that I was able to picturize every character with every actor's face who played it. This actually made all scenes very real to me.

It is quite a formality to summarize this (since everyone knows the basic premise) , but stilI I am going to give a brief about this to all those who do not know anything about this. This is about a boy named Harry who survives an encounter with world's most evil wizard ever born and probably the only to survive such direct encounter and hence is given the name 'The Boy who Lived' when he is one year old. Fast forwarding to ten years later when he is eleven, living a miserable life with his uncle and aunt and do not know anything about his parents, his growing fame or his status as wizard. All of it ends, on his eleventh birthday when he gets a letter from the world's most prestigious university for wizard school admission. From there on starts a new life and eye opening world experience for Harry and us as a reader!

Apart from the school setting, magic system and awesome world building what really make it a great read to me is the friendship between our trio. Apart from being so different from each other they actually give the meaning of being a family away from home.In this reading I also noticed secondary characters which I failed to notice the first time, especially Neville.
I know he is the favourite character of many book readers out there and I too love him to pieces!
Apart from that, all the classes and nerdy stuffs were so awesome. This is also the first book I have ever read with school setting ,so many thanks to JK Rowling to make me introduced to one of my favourite trope!

Overall It was an awesome reading experience for me and I am going to pick 'Chamber of Secrets' right away!

Awesomely nostalgic 5 Stars!!
